Solar prices in Pakistan moved a lot in 2026. Prices dropped a lot in 2024 and 2025. Then they went up by about Rs.3,000 to 5,000 per panel in early 2026, and have crept up a little further through June and July, because silver and copper cost more to make panels. Since almost all imported solar panels sold here come from China, the Dollar rate has stayed close to Rs.278–279, so most of the recent price rise is coming from raw material costs, not currency movement. Check back weekly for the latest solar panel rates, since wholesale prices shift with global material costs.
We update this guide every Monday using real wholesale solar panel prices sourced directly from dealers. All prices below are for A-Grade, Tier-1 panels with full papers — genuine, original solar panels with manufacturer documentation — unless we say otherwise. We do not cover B-grade panels here, because we do not recommend them for homes or businesses.

2. Solar plate price in Pakistan by wattage (540W to 650W)
Most homes and businesses in Pakistan use panels between 540 watt and 615 watt (540W–615W). Bigger panels cost more each, but you need fewer of them. This means you spend less on structure, wiring, and setup. If you are looking for the cheapest solar panels in Pakistan, smaller wattages like 540 watt or 550 watt models have a lower per-panel price, though the per-watt rate is usually similar. Here is a full comparison using Longi as the example brand:
| Wattage | Price (Longi) | Panels for 5kW | Panels for 10kW | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 540W | Rs.22,140 | 10 panels | 19–20 panels | Budget-conscious buyers, medium roofs |
| 550W | Rs.22,550 | 10 panels | 19 panels | Good all-round option |
| 580W | Rs.23,780 | 9 panels | 18 panels | Efficient, fewer structure costs |
| 585W ⭐ Most popular | Rs.23,985 | 9 panels | 18 panels | Best price-to-performance in 2026 |
| 600W | Rs.24,600 | 9 panels | 17 panels | Commercial use, large roofs |
| 615W | Rs.25,215 | 9 panels | 17 panels | Maximum power per panel |
| 645W | Rs.26,445 | 8 panels | 16 panels | Industrial / commercial installations |
Why 585W panels sell the most in Pakistan: They give the best mix of low cost, easy setup, and inverter fit. Most 5kW inverters (Growatt, Solis, Huawei) work best with 9 panels of 580–600W. Fewer panels mean less structure and a faster install — saving you Rs.15,000 to 25,000 compared to smaller panels.

3. Complete solar system price in Pakistan (1kW to 20kW)
These prices are for a fully installed system: panels (Tier-1 Longi or Jinko), inverter (Growatt or Solis), structure, wiring, labour, and basic net metering setup. Battery cost is listed on its own for hybrid systems. This table is priced as a full package, so it is kept separate from the per-watt panel numbers above. For a detailed breakdown by size, see our dedicated guides: 1kW, 2kW, 3kW, 5kW, 8kW, 10kW, and 15kW systems.
| System Size | On-Grid (No Battery) | Hybrid (With Lithium) | Monthly Savings from Self-Use* | Units/Day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1kW | Rs.95,000–115,000 | Rs.175,000–225,000 | Rs.3,000–5,000 | 4–5 units |
| 3kW | Rs.290,000–350,000 | Rs.410,000–490,000 | Rs.10,000–14,000 | 12–15 units |
| 5kW ⭐ Most popular | Rs.460,000–560,000 | Rs.630,000–760,000 | Rs.18,000–25,000 | 20–25 units |
| 8kW | Rs.710,000–860,000 | Rs.960,000–1,120,000 | Rs.28,000–38,000 | 32–40 units |
| 10kW | Rs.860,000–1,020,000 | Rs.1,170,000–1,370,000 | Rs.35,000–50,000 | 40–50 units |
| 15kW | Rs.1,270,000–1,520,000 | Rs.1,720,000–2,030,000 | Rs.50,000–70,000 | 60–75 units |
| 20kW | Rs.1,620,000–1,930,000 | Rs.2,230,000–2,640,000 | Rs.65,000–90,000 | 80–100 units |
*Monthly savings assume you use most of your solar power yourself, at a retail rate of Rs.45–60 per unit (2026). Since net billing pays much less for exported power (see Section 7), savings depend heavily on how much you self-consume versus export — not just your system size.
4. How many solar panels do you need? (Free calculator)
Use this tool to find the right system size for your home or shop, based on your monthly electricity bill. One tip before you use it: under 2026’s net billing rules, a bigger system isn’t automatically better — see Section 7 for why matching your system to your actual daytime use now matters more than total bill size.

5. Solar panel prices by city in Pakistan
Prices change from city to city. This is because of transport cost, how many solar panel dealers are nearby, and local demand. Karachi has the lowest prices because it is a port city with direct imports. Smaller cities in KPK and Balochistan cost 5–10% more because of freight.
🏙️ Lahore
Pakistan’s biggest solar market. Many dealers compete, so prices stay low. Longi 585W: Rs.23,400–25,740. Best markets: Hall Road, Badami Bagh, Johar Town. Full Lahore price guide here.
🏙️ Karachi
Lowest prices because panels arrive here by port. Longi 585W: Rs.23,400–25,450. Best markets: Saddar, Lighthouse, Bolton Market, Shahra-e-Faisal.
🏙️ Islamabad / Rawalpindi
Higher dealer margins and demand push prices up here. Longi 585W: Rs.23,985–28,665. Best markets: G-8, Blue Area, College Road Rawalpindi, I-9 Industrial. Full Islamabad buying guide here.
🏙️ Faisalabad
Factories keep demand high and stock full, close to Lahore pricing. Longi 585W: Rs.23,400–25,740. Best markets: Kachehri Bazaar, D-Ground solar market.
🏙️ Peshawar
Prices are a bit higher since panels travel from Punjab. Longi 585W: Rs.23,985–26,325. Best markets: Hashtnagri, Dabgari Gardens solar market.
🏙️ Multan
Very sunny area with high summer demand. Longi 585W: Rs.23,400–25,740. Prices can rise 5–8% between May and September.
🏙️ Quetta
Freight adds extra cost here. Longi 585W: Rs.23,400–26,325. Demand is high because grid power is unreliable. QUESCO net billing approval takes 60–90 days.
🏙️ Dera Ismail Khan
Panels come from the Peshawar wholesale market. Longi 585W: Rs.23,985–26,325. Off-grid demand is strong. PESCO net billing works for eligible areas.
6. N-Type vs P-Type solar panels — which should you buy?
In 2026, most new solar setups in Pakistan use N-Type panels. Here is why that matters for you:
| Feature | N-Type Panel | P-Type Panel (older) |
|---|---|---|
| Efficiency | 22–23% | 20–21% |
| Annual degradation | 0.4%/year | 0.55%/year |
| Output after 25 years | ~90.5% | ~86.25% |
| Hot weather performance | Better (lower Tc) | Loses 0.35%/°C above 25°C |
| Price premium over P-Type | Rs.3–7/watt more | Cheaper upfront |
| Availability in Pakistan 2026 | Wide (standard) | Declining, being phased out |
| Recommended? | Yes — strongly | Only if budget is very tight |
Pakistan’s summers get very hot (40–48°C in many cities). N-Type panels make more power during these hot months than P-Type panels. You pay Rs.3–5 more per watt, but you earn it back in the first 2–3 years through extra power.
7. Brand vs. brand — which one should you actually pick?

8. Buying guide: how to avoid fake or B-grade panels
Fake and B-grade panels are a real problem in Pakistan’s wholesale markets. Here is how to protect yourself before you pay.
How to check if a panel is original
Every genuine Tier-1 panel has a printed nameplate on the back listing the model number, rated wattage, Voc, Isc, and a serial number. The nameplate should be clean, laminated, and machine-printed — not a hand-written sticker. Ask the dealer for the manufacturer’s official warranty card, not just a shop receipt.
How to avoid fake panels
- Never buy a panel priced far below the per-watt rates in the table above — an unusually low price almost always means B-grade, refurbished, or mislabelled stock.
- Buy only from dealers who can provide a manufacturer warranty card, not just a shop-issued receipt.
- Ask to see the panel’s flash test report if buying in bulk for a commercial project.
- Avoid panels with visible micro-cracks, yellowing, or an uneven frame — signs of older or reject stock.
How to verify the serial number
Most Tier-1 manufacturers (Longi, Jinko, Canadian Solar, JA Solar) let you verify a panel’s serial number through their official website or an authorised distributor in Pakistan. Photograph the nameplate before installation — you will need this serial number for any future warranty claim.
How to select a good installer
- Confirm the installer is AEDB-registered — this is required for net billing applications with your DISCO.
- Get at least 3 itemised quotes listing panel brand/wattage, inverter model, structure type, and labour separately — never accept a single lump-sum quote.
- Ask how many similar-sized systems they have installed and request to see at least one completed installation.
- Confirm who handles the net billing paperwork with your DISCO — some installers include this, others charge extra.
9. Net metering vs. net billing in Pakistan 2026 — what changed (read this before you buy)
This is the section most solar price pages in Pakistan are still getting wrong, so read carefully. In February 2026, NEPRA (Pakistan’s power regulator) officially replaced the old net metering system with a new system called net billing for all new solar applicants. If a page still quotes a Rs.19–21 per unit export rate, that page is out of date. Installers must also be registered with the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) for net billing applications to be processed.
The old system: net metering (1:1 swap)
If you sent 100 units of extra power to the grid, you got a credit worth 100 units back — a straight one-for-one swap, paid at close to the retail rate (roughly Rs.22–27 per unit).
What changed: net billing (2026 onward)
- Extra power you send to the grid is now paid at a much lower rate — around Rs.8 to 11 per unit, instead of Rs.22–27.
- Power you buy from the grid is still charged at the full retail rate (Rs.40–60+ per unit, depending on your usage slab).
- The license length for new solar connections dropped from 7 years to 5 years.
What this means for your money
| Old net metering | New net billing (2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Rate for extra power sent to grid | ~Rs.22–27/unit | ~Rs.8–11/unit |
| Rate for power you buy from grid | ~Rs.40–60/unit | ~Rs.40–60/unit (unchanged) |
| Best strategy | Install a bigger system, export the extra | Use as much power yourself as possible, during the day |
| Typical 5kW payback period | 2.5–3.5 years | Roughly 4–6 years, depending on self-use |
The one-line takeaway: in 2026, the money is in using your own solar power, not selling it back. Running your washing machine, water pump, and AC during sunny hours instead of at night gets you much more value per unit than exporting it to the grid.
Papers you need for net billing
You must give these papers to your DISCO after the install:
- CNIC copy of the applicant
- Latest electricity bill copy
- Solar installation certificate from installer
- Single-line diagram (SLD) of the system
- Inverter datasheet (must be NEPRA-approved model)
- Form C (Generation License exemption form)
- Net billing application form (from your DISCO office: LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO, PESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, FESCO, GEPCO)
10. The biggest solar myth in Pakistan right now
The myth: “Install the biggest system you can afford, sell the extra power back, and your bill disappears.”
That advice was true under old net metering. It is not true anymore. Since net billing pays only about a third of what net metering used to pay for exported power, an oversized system now wastes money instead of earning it. A 10kW system on a house that’s empty from 9 AM to 6 PM will pay back much slower than the same system on a house that runs its AC, fridge, and water pump during the day — because most of its power gets exported at the low rate instead of saving you the full retail rate.
